Lilys Lab of Love

The Lab for a change was full of sound! light! laughter! the lab was alive! as the reception area sat dark and empty with the sounds of a joyous party ringing out through the castle a long tapeworm worked its way across the floor towards the elevator. The host stood by watching, his face grimaced with disgust he moved to stomp the creature stopping mere centimeters away from it. "oh...my apologies...quite the trade...go ahead," said the host, moving his foot back and disappearing from sight completely. The tapeworm continues its journey...

Far below in the depths of the castle, the Laboratory itself was alight with the sounds of the Mutant Fam, Dozens of screens showing those beloved freaks that Lily longed so badly to see again. Lily sat in front of the monitors smirking with her beloved brain in a jar Erin on the console in front of her, Reel Character with his feet up beside her watching, smiling and strumming his guitar.

"See I told you, it was only like, 4 hours and all the wiring from the nursery," Said Reel Beeming a huge smile "Now we are all connected!"

"I'm sure we could have just like, skyped but this is cool too! thanks!" lily replied smiling just as wide. Erin bubbled, which for a brain, is like a smile. or a fart. but most likely a smile.

Lily flicked a switch on the side of Erin's jar on and the speaker on the top screamed feedback before settling to a quiet hum.

"Why is that even a thing? why do I have a button?" "BECAUSE SCIENCE!" Shouted Lily, Pointing her finger to the sky dramatically, "also I thought it would be funny and it is." Erin's jar bubbled "NO ITS NOT! IT'S HORRI..." Lily flipped the switch giggling "see funny!" she flipped it back on "You know, your lucky I'm a brain, id so...oh id do a thing," said Erin Lily turned to the monitors and cleared her throat "Mutants, madmen, monsters, ladies of the Nigh...wait that's hookers..er..women of terror! I welcome you all to the labs top secret not in any way a Plot device! I have Gathered you all here because...I MISS YOU ALL! IM BORED AND I MISS MY FREAKS!" The screens all suddenly became a Symphony of chatter as all the mutant fam began to shout at each other happily catching up and talking about family, movies and more! Lily leaned forwards on her hands and watched. "ahhh...The children of the night. what sweet music they make" she said as she drifted off to the sounds of her beloved friends. "LILY!" Suddenly jarred awake lily blinked and looked up, most of the monitors had gone dark, the night had gone on for hours with the whole fam having the time of there lives while lily had slept peacefully to the sounds of there joy. but a few remained. Ghostfake on one screen, walking through a wooded area filming himself on his cell. TYTD on another, hiding behind a copy of Fangoria. GG, watching intently some loud violent movie on a cell phone. "Hey Lily, you live!" Said GG. "Yup, good now, needed to feel normal for a bit" she replied "hey...If you became the Ultimate Supervillainess Of Blog Doom and could have any guest you'd like in the lab, who would you interview, and who would you import just to vivisect?" Lily perked up "who says I'm NOT the ultimate supervillainess! MWAHAHAHAHAHA*choke...cough*.....HA! Nah I'm like, sidekick to the big man. The lab is really a team effort with Reel character providing amazing movies and a great opinion, Welcome To the horror Show providing TOP NOTCH entertainment and myself...doing...the things?...you know..things... anywho back to your question, id say for sure I want to talk to Felissa Rose, she's my heroin, I wouldn't be who I am today without Sleepaway camp and her portrayal of angela. I have never connected to a character more and never empathized more, she's also a wonderful human being and her twitter brings a daily smile to me! shes also SUPER kind to her fans, she responds to like EVERYONE. so so humble. it's like she has no idea shes horror royalty. love her so much. someone to destroy... only one! BAH! I'm gonna get eaten alive for this but Christopher Nolan for making the batman trilogy. I just. I don't want to say too much cause people LOVE those flicks. but man did I hate EVERY Second of them. Lilys eyes went wide and a sneaky grin crossed her lips "CARTOONS! I LOVE animation! I adore it! all kinds! I'm especially fond of Rubber Hose and Rotoscope animation! both are so different but so beautiful! I grew up with a pc as early as I can remember and animated games were the best ones. Dragons lair and such REALLY hooked me more than Mario ever could have back then, growing up and moving on to things like Stick death and New grounds I found myself Diving into the animation world headfirst and I've grown a large appreciation for all animated films! I'm not sure that counts as a genre but I also am obsessed with Noire films. Hard-boiled detectives. Leggy Dames. Criminal underworlds, high pants, fast-talking.I can't get enough! ALSO ANYTHING BY JOHN HUGHES! I CAN QUOTE YOU ALL OF PRETTY IN PINK OR 16 CANDLES!... I mean...blood and guts. mwahaha? Films I could suggest? you could be here all day mwahaha. ANYTHING by Don Bluth, the man does no wrong. Cool World is one of my favorite movies along with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. both blend live-action and animation altho Cool world is a BIT of a muck job, but the behind the scenes reasons are what makes the movie so interesting and a fun watch! Black cauldron is another I recommend. it's very grim and not your usual Disney venture but it is a blast start to end. reminds me of an animated never-ending story. The devil and daniel mouse is VERY good for how short it is. available on youtube! (it's ok to use as I believe the rights expired long ago) for a more laid back time Fritz the Cat. Such an amazing film with so many great animations and such a bizarre art style. very groovy!" Lily opens a cabinet door on the shelf near the console grabbing out bug repellent and searching around for another Tele-Band. "ill see what we can do..." suddenly a flashing red light goes off and the lab doors are shuttered tight with a loud metallic THUD as a large metal slat falls down securing each entrance and window "What in the hell is that?" Says Ghostfake sounding genuinely concerned. Lily flips a large lever on the wall beside the console shutting the red lights off "some freak probably wandered into the creature pit. or Igor again, we go through ALOT of igors. Ghostfake, looking as shocked as he can from behind a mask asks "What is the longest span without an accident in the lab?" "It's like daily here, some asshole is always sticking their finger in something or just straight up walking into shit. WE HAVE A PIT! AN OPEN PIT OF CREATURES! LIKE HOW IS THAT AT ALL SAFE!? seriously the other day Igor was just walking around on fire, like, just full out burning, he had no clue, was drinking a coke like all was well and didn't even know how it happened! it's like working with children these monsters!" Bubbling a bit, Erins Speaker screams with excitement "My turn! What's your favorite Foreign film! Lily turns and picks up Erin's jar glancing at the brain vibrating with joy inside "Jesus all of you? what is this? an interrogation... I like it. I LOVE Asian cinema, like adore it, I have a very very long list of films I can throw out as a favorite but if I had to pick one...hmmm...Troll Hunter... not Asian i know. BUT it's amazing. it felt so real despite the sometimes silly effects, I really felt for the hunter, I wanted to see the crew survive, I wanted to know more about the job and the way it works, it felt like watching someones modern interpretation of the witcher. I LOVED it. anyone who hasn't seen it needs to, its a disservice to yourself to miss out." "Our names aren't guy...is she for real?" "Listen, I've got a bubbling brain jar here, I need to go" "wait! we wanted to ask!" said one "Who would be your go-to cast for your own horror movie. Male actor, Female actor, child actor, director, writer, producer, etc." Said the other "oh crap" lily mused "that's a TOUGH one..." she paused for a moment then perked up "Jordan Peel writer Rob Zombie director. producer Wes Craven, Carolyn Jones for my Actress and Vincent Price for my actor! You never said it had to make sense! I just love all those folk and think it would be a hell of a ride!" Erin's Jar Bubbles and wiggles around: What movie do you absolutely HATE above all others Lily doesn't even hesitate "Hereditary. never have I been so disappointed. I was told it was the scariest movie ever, it was terrifying, it was so scary people didn't want to watch it. but I have never been so fucking bored. like ooh, you have 2 semi spooky scenes, like an hour or so of nothing happening, all the exposition supposedly hidden in background details, an ending that comes out of fucking nowhere and makes no sense until you either watch the flick 10 times or go look up what the hell just happened. I just can't. that and 40 ft bellow. it wasn't fun, I was yelling at the screen the entire film, they did SO MANY things within before they even saw the shark that should have killed them and even when they found a thing that repelled the shark THEY TURNED IT OFF BECAUSE IT KEPT THE SHARK AWAY! FUCKING LEAVE IT ON! SWIM AROUND WITH ALL OF YOUR LITTLE BEEPY THINGS GOING! FUCKIN MORONS! I HATE THEM ALL! and then to make it worse, the one character that deserves to live dies, and the one that should survive. I was furious. FURIOUS I SAY! RAAAAAAGH!" She crushes her Mr. Pibb Can, spilling liquid all over her lab coat, removing it and sitting back down, spinning the chair. The room grows cold, the lights dim, the noise becomes a fuzz, the people all stop moving. The creature appears and reality shifts, the room swirls and goes dark, out of space, out of time, in a place that hasn't seen a human being in more time then one could fathom, an endless void where only one thing exists, the Host: Here we stand, outside the universe, its safe here, its quiet, nothing leaves that I don't wish to... speak freely, tell me, What made you want to start the lab? Your answer Remains here, outside of the "Canon" universe... you have my assurance. *evil laugh* Lily Looks at the creature, she chokes back unwanted memories and filters through to the good bits... "Um, My strange little family. My dad is a huge film buff, he watches ANYTHING you put in front of him. he's always been big into horror, Stephen King is his jam, he read like everything he's written, as a kid he had me watch whatever he watched, I guess it was a bad habit since my brother was old enough to see those flicks, but I was exposed to horror WAY too young, my mom is a GIGANTIC B movie fan, she loves anything with a bad monster suit or bruce Campbell, the two of them had me growing up reading Fangoria, Weekly Weird News, Rue Morgue, my brother would wake me up on Friday nights to watch tales from the crypt and my dad would come to wake me for x files! I had a HORROR filled life. Memories of My brother as Freddy Kruger, me as Dracula, the late-night movie binges with friends, the feeling of being scared or grossed out, I love it all! but something stood out to me. The Hilarious House of Frightenstein was a television show that was 100% horror for kids, adults, and teens, it was for all ages and had a little bit of something for everyone, it made horror less horrible and more accessible, then I discovered Elvira, watching her joke her way through a movie, rip on the bad effects, have fun with lines. it made me want to BE Elvira. Morticia Addams, Elvira, Taylor Nicolette in Turkey slay, Dana Delorenzo as Kelly and a dash of my own odd sense of humor and quirky writing style are what makes the "Lab Version" of me, Things like Mystery science theater, Monstervision and such showed me that you don't have to have a giant budget and a lot of power to just, say what you want to say, and it took the mutant fam, ESPECIALLY Frank, to show me that sometimes its worth taking that risk and Putting your passion out there. Another big thing is that I have A LOT of problems in my past, most I won't go into detail here, perhaps another day, but my life hasn't been...Daisy's. I've spent a lot of my life watching others live, watching the world go by, being too afraid to be included, a few months ago, talking to anyone the way I talk to you guys and horrible entities was not a possibility. I just didn't have it in me to comment on anything, engage with anyone, I just didn't feel worth it. I came to the realization that we all feel that way. I joined twitter SPECIFICALLY to see if I could get Felissa rose to reply so I could have a nice screenshot, kind of pretend its as good as an autograph. I Added more people as I went because I used it as a news feed. you know? check out what new flicks are out or what cool youtube vids might drop. but that's the thing, the people interacted, they WANTED to talk to me, they wanted my opinion, or to disagree, or to share something else. People are all alone. were all looking for that way to just fucking talk to someone and maybe watch a movie. Finding the mutant fam changed my whole life. literally every aspect of it. I've never been more proud of myself or more excited for the future. so while I may have STARTED the lab a title for a blog, as you can see its evolved and become the very thing I loved growing up, a big castle, full of weirdos, having a good time, and maybe some boobs. Now, Lily's Lab is a full-blown entity featuring a small but colorful cast of interesting characters, such as yourself. it's our home. I love it. The host looks up almost...emotional? or as emotional as an entity from beyond the deepest reaches of your nightmares can look. "Good answer. back you go" the world around her melted back, it was as if she never left. She looks around at the few light up monitors and the folks still chatting, at Reel sitting holding Erin's Jar, Feet up on the console laughing and talking to the mutant f fam.
