Newsletter Issue 2: Friday Night Frights

Hey, what’s up #MutantFam? This Friday was such a blast. Can you all believe Darcy was able to get Joe Bob to do the Crispin Glover dance during the live stream? That was truly a highlight of my year so far with all of the madness going on.

I hope all of you are staying safe and comfortable at home. It really sucks that movies are being delayed and events cancelled left and right. But we here at MutantFam.com always have something planned to keep folks feeling like they are part of a community even if they are stuck at home!

Join us for our regularly scheduled #FridayNightFrights this Friday March 20th starting at 7pm EST. To be clear, Joe Bob and Darcy will not be there, this past week was a special event. A group of us meet up every week to live tweet some flicks together, watch a live cook along and then spend the midnight hours chatting together on YouTube during #MidnightMarathon.

We do this every week until The Last Drive In returns so if you’re available, feel free to hang out with us while we all wait for Season 2 together. Make sure to follow @MutantTheater2 or head to MutantFam.com/vote to vote on what movie we live tweet each week.  This weeks poll will be available Monday morning.

We are doing a Space theme this week and the choices are:

Jason X

Hellraiser: Bloodline

Critters 4

Leprechaun 4

Make your voice heard today by voting and then on Friday show up at 7pm EST to live tweet the flick together. Just like this past Friday with Joe Bob, you will need to have a copy of the film handy or find it somewhere to stream. We all press play at the same time and tweet under the hashtags:

At 9pm EST we all head over to MutantFam.com/cafe where Mutant Cafe hosts his weekly live cook along. Get ready to cook with him or just watch along as he makes Gazpacho Jello. Find all his recipes here: https://t.co/yahfBGbNId?amp=1 and then after the cook along we will all press play on Roger Corman’s A Bucket of Blood (1959) available for free on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQxFePQo6Ko) at 10:30pm EST.

We wrap the evening up at 12am EST with #MidnightMarathon over at MutantFam.com/marathon.  To go along with the space theme of Mutant Theater we have three public domain space flicks streaming on the site, you do not need a copy of these films, you can just show up and press play and all three will run back to back.

Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959)

Residents of California's San Fernando Valley are under attack by flying saucers from outer space.

Warning from Space (1956)

Huge one-eyed star-shaped aliens come to Tokyo to save Earth from hitting a flaming planet.

Battle of the Worlds (1961)

A dedicated scientist is pitted against an unknown enemy from space when an armed meteor is sent to destroy Earth.

As always head over to MutantFam.com/calendar for all our future live tweets and marathons!

See you all Friday #MutantFam!
